The scene shifts from Sin City to Napa Valley, Cal., in Part 1 of the two-part Season 6 finale. The four remaining chefs try to seal the deal with an ideal meal in the penultimate challenge.
This week's challenge takes its inspiration from the Bocuse d'Or Culinary Olympics, one of the most prestigious cooking competitions in the world. Guest judges include Jerome Bocuse and Thomas Keller.
The day begins with a QuickFire that tasks the chefs to create a perfect breakfast in bed. Guest judge: Nigella Lawson.
Fabio Viviani from season five has invited contestants from his season and those in the past for what is supposed to be a convivial gathering of chefs cooking, eating and talking. But this is Top Chef, after all, and if you include Marcel in any invitation pleasant can turn on a dime.
TV Guide's editors drop by to complicate tonight's QuickFire with their list of shows to use as inspiration for "TV Dinners." Then Natalie Portman is guest client tonight during the Elimination as the chefs fix her and her friends dinner at craftsteak, Tom Colicchio's Las Vegas restaurant.
The dreaded round returns, this time in an existing restaurant, and the chefs will have to watch their Ps and Qs, because the guest judge owns the restaurant. But first is a unique team High Risk QuickFire that uses blindfolds in a new way. Guest judge: Rick Moonen.
The chefs create their version of Charlie Palmer's annual Pigs & Pinot event at his restaurant Aureole, hoping to perfectly pair their pork dishes with wine.
The chefs try to hit the jackpot when the results of a slot machine define the guidelines for the quickfire challenge. They then serve up a special dinner for a culinary-council collective.
